Life at every age matters. By 2030, reducing mortality from noncommunicable diseases both through prevention and treatment and through promoting mental health and well-being will be critical for achieving SDG (Sustainable Development Goal) target 3.4. This should also apply to older people.

Cause-of-death analysis is a useful tool for documenting the relative burden of cause-specific mortality in older people. This page provides mortality rate disaggregated by age and sex; and also ranks cause-of-death for people aged 60 years or over by regions and globally.
